Footwear designer by trade, archivist by obsession.
A lifelong immersion in skateboarding gave me a foundation for cohesive design thinking. It exposed me to product design, graphic design, photography, art direction, and more, while simultaneously teaching me the importance of taste.
I eventually studied Industrial Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where a multi-faceted design curriculum allowed me to develop and apply the design thinking I learned from skateboarding, into a broader cultural context.
Currently, I serve as the Head of Footwear at Lakai, managing the full seasonal product lifecycle from concept to market.
My main creative pursuit is to distill the conventions and gestural attitude of ‘core skate’ into a visual vocabulary, recontextualizing subcultural utility to create new objects which both celebrate and transcend skateboarding - in other words, “Make the sickest sh*t”.
